Hold your breath. The Botafumeiro thurible is flying above your head at 70 kilometers per hour. There is magic inside the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The cathedral has just celebrated its 800 year anniversary and is still in great shape, with new attractions. For example, a guided tour of its roof top, to discover secret corners and new views, such as the one of the beautiful square Plaza de la Quintana from above.

And at your feet there lies the historic quarter. With its churches and closed order convents, its jet and silver craft shops, its legendary cafés and eating houses, its squares, such as the Obradoiro, Praterías, Cervantes, Toural... Its "rúas" (streets), such as Franco or "do Vilar"; streets that are full of life where students coexist with pilgrims from all over the world.

And often the rain that cloaks it all and which in Santiago is also an art.
