Sigüeiro boasts a very popular fishing preserve during the fishing season and, since 1996, has held a festival that celebrates the town's long trout-fishing tradition. On the second Sunday in May, a fishing competition and a free trout tasting takes place that attracts around 30,000 people every year. A festive programme is organised around these two central concepts over the course of the weekend, with performances by brass bands and orchestras, children's workshops and traditional games. There are leisure activities to suit everyone’s taste, ranging from a Folk Festival to an classic car rally. And for those who prefer good old tapas and wine, the bars, restaurants and taverns serve delicious trout, free of charge with a drink.
